Being a teenager is difficult, and anyone who has an ear to listen and some wisdom to pass on is a very welcome support.

Close House has an experienced team of youth workers who look after the tricky safeguarding requirements of our projects, meaning that as a volunteers you’ll be free to focus on bringing practical skills and a patient presence to the mix.
Whether you prefer making tea and baking biscuits, or playing sports, upcycling furniture, art workshops, DIY or stewarding at community events, we can find a space for you at one of our projects; you just need bags of patience and a big heart. You can’t be too old, but under 21s will most often be directed to help with The EPICs first.

We usually ask volunteers for a couple of hours a week, some volunteers give an afternoon, but regularity is important so that we can plan sessions. We don’t take volunteers on a spontaneous basis – like “I’ll pop in if I’m free” or “call me if you’re short” – it just never works out… So if you’re able spend a regular time with us then we’re flexible to find a slot that suits.
Send us some info about you and we’ll be in touch!
